Mattress Recycling

Being environmentally correct, our consumers’ beds do not go to landfills but are refurbished and recycled to someone who would otherwise be sleeping on the floor. When a customer purchases a new bed from one of our stores, they have a chance to donate their old one. St. Vincent de Paul visits our Distribution Center daily to collect the donated mattresses. In 2010, Sleep America picked up approximately 14,500 donated mattresses. To date Sleep America has recycled over 200,000 mattresses by offering free pick-up and donation to clients.
Christmas Adopt a Family
For the past three years, Sleep America has teamed up with our local schools and granted the neediest families their Christmas wishes. Sleep America employees “adopt” these families and purchase the items on their wish list. Some families wouldn’t have received a gift at all if it wasn’t for the generosity of Sleep America associates.
